These Terms and Conditions apply when you place an order with Yggdrasilver through this website, through a payment link or following direct communication concerning a custom order.
By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
1. Seller information
Yggdrasilver is currently operated as a small independent craft activity by:
Conan Jens Nils Erik Caligula Emilsson
Söräng Staterna 5135
Bollnäs, Sweden
Email: jens@yggdrasilver.com
2. Handmade and made-to-order products
Yggdrasilver offers individually handcrafted jewellery and other handmade items. Most products are made after an order has been placed.
Because each item is made by hand, minor differences in shape, texture, colour, finish, patina and tool marks may occur. These natural variations are part of the handmade character of the product and do not normally constitute a defect.
Product photographs are intended to represent the design and general appearance of an item. Unless a specific finished item is expressly sold, the product received may not be identical to the example shown.
3. Product information and customer specifications
Customers are responsible for checking product descriptions, measurements, materials, sizes and available options before ordering.
For personalised or custom-made products, the customer is responsible for providing accurate specifications, including where applicable:
- Measurements and sizes
- Text and spelling for engravings
- Selected symbols, materials and finishes
- Reference images
- Other instructions agreed before production
Yggdrasilver is not responsible for an incorrect result caused by inaccurate information supplied or approved by the customer.
If an instruction is unclear or cannot reasonably be followed, Yggdrasilver may contact the customer before beginning or completing the work.
4. Custom orders and quotations
A custom-order enquiry does not create a binding order.
The design, specifications, estimated production time and price will be discussed before the customer is asked to complete payment. An order becomes binding when payment has been completed, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Changes requested after production has begun may be declined or may result in an additional charge and a longer production time.
Any substantial alteration to the agreed design or specifications must be accepted by both parties before it is carried out.
5. Orders placed through the online shop
Products with a stated price may be ordered through the website’s checkout.
After placing an order, the customer will normally receive an electronic order confirmation. An automatically generated confirmation only confirms that the order has been received.
Yggdrasilver may decline or cancel an order where, for example:
- The product cannot reasonably be produced
- Important product or pricing information is incorrect
- Payment cannot be verified
- The order appears fraudulent or unlawful
- Delivery to the customer’s location is unavailable
If a paid order is cancelled by Yggdrasilver, the amount paid for the cancelled order will be refunded.
6. Prices and payment
The applicable product price, delivery charge and any other amount collected by Yggdrasilver will be shown before payment or stated in an individual quotation.
Payments are processed through Stripe and any other payment methods made available at checkout, which may include PayPal.
The available payment methods may vary depending on the customer’s country, currency and order.
Yggdrasilver does not store complete payment-card details.
7. Production times
Production times are estimates and may vary depending on:
- The complexity of the product
- Availability of materials
- The number of current orders
- Whether further information is required from the customer
- Changes requested during production
The estimated production time shown on the product page or provided with a custom quotation is not the same as delivery time.
Because each item is made by one craftsperson alongside other commitments, production may take longer than it would for a mass-produced product. The customer will be contacted if a significant delay becomes known.
8. Pre-shipping preview
For custom-made products and other orders where appropriate, Yggdrasilver may send photographs of the completed item before shipment.
The preview is provided as an opportunity for the customer to identify clear discrepancies from the agreed specifications before the product is dispatched. It is not a guarantee that every minor handmade variation can or will be changed.
The customer should respond within 72 hours of the preview email being sent.
If no response is received within 72 hours, Yggdrasilver may consider the review period complete and proceed with shipment to avoid unnecessary delays.
The customer is responsible for:
- Providing a correct email address
- Monitoring the email inbox
- Checking spam or junk folders
- Responding within the stated review period
A pre-shipping preview does not remove any mandatory rights the customer may have under applicable consumer law.
9. Minor adjustments before shipment
Reasonable minor adjustments may be requested during the 72-hour preview period.
Whether an adjustment is possible depends on the product, its materials and its stage of completion. Requests that change the agreed design, size, material or other essential specifications may:
- Be declined
- Require an additional payment
- Extend the production time
- Be treated as a new custom order
Approval of photographs relates to the visible appearance of the product and does not prevent the customer from making a valid complaint about a defect that could not reasonably be identified from the photographs.
10. Delivery
Orders are shipped from Sweden using PostNord or another appropriate postal or delivery provider.
Delivery options, prices and estimated delivery times may vary depending on the size, weight, value and destination of the order.
Delivery times are estimates and begin after production has been completed. Yggdrasilver is not responsible for delays caused by postal operators, customs authorities or circumstances outside reasonable control.
The customer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
Additional costs caused by an incorrect address, an unclaimed shipment or a failed delivery may be charged to the customer where permitted by law.
11. International orders, customs and import charges
International orders may be subject to customs processing, import VAT, duties, handling charges or other fees imposed by the destination country.
Unless expressly stated otherwise at checkout, such charges are not included in the product or shipping price and must be paid by the customer.
Yggdrasilver does not control these charges and cannot guarantee how much a destination country may impose.
Customers are responsible for checking whether a product may legally be imported into their country.
12. Right of withdrawal
Consumers may have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance purchase within 14 days after receiving the product.
However, the right of withdrawal does not apply where an applicable legal exception applies. This may include goods that:
- Have been made to the customer’s specifications
- Have been personalised
- Have otherwise been given a clearly personal character
The fact that a product is described as “handmade” or “made to order” does not by itself remove the statutory right of withdrawal. The exception is applied only where the product has been genuinely made or adapted according to the individual customer’s choices or specifications.
Where the statutory right of withdrawal applies, the customer must notify Yggdrasilver clearly within the applicable withdrawal period by emailing:
The message should include the customer’s name, order number and a clear statement that the customer wishes to withdraw from the purchase.
Where required, the website will also provide the statutory withdrawal form or another legally required method for exercising the right of withdrawal.
13. Returns where the right of withdrawal applies
The product must be returned without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the customer notified Yggdrasilver of the withdrawal.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law:
- The customer arranges the return
- The customer pays the direct cost of return shipping
- The customer is responsible for packaging the product securely
- A tracked and appropriately insured shipping method should be used
- The customer bears the risk of the return shipment until it has been received
The product should be sent to the return address provided by Yggdrasilver after the return request has been received.
The customer may examine the product only to the extent necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and function. Where permitted by law, the refund may be reduced to reflect diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary for such an examination.
Yggdrasilver does not offer any additional voluntary open-return or exchange policy beyond rights provided by applicable law, unless expressly agreed in writing.
14. Refunds following withdrawal
Where a valid right of withdrawal has been exercised, Yggdrasilver will refund payments as required by applicable law.
The refund may be withheld until:
- The returned product has been received, or
- The customer has provided acceptable evidence that it has been sent back,
whichever occurs first.
Any additional delivery cost resulting from the customer choosing a more expensive delivery method than the least expensive standard option offered does not have to be refunded where permitted by law.
Refunds are normally issued through the original payment method.
15. Personalised and custom-made products
Products made to the customer’s specifications or given a clearly personal character cannot normally be returned merely because the customer changes their mind, where the legal exception from the right of withdrawal applies.
This may include products made with an individually selected:
- Engraving
- Design or motif
- Combination of symbols
- Unusual size or measurements
- Material or finish
- Other personal specification agreed with the customer
This does not affect the customer’s right to complain if the product is defective, damaged or does not conform to the agreed specifications.
16. Defective, damaged or incorrect products
Customers should contact Yggdrasilver as soon as reasonably possible if a product:
- Arrives damaged
- Is defective
- Is materially different from the agreed specifications
- Is not the product ordered
The customer should provide the order number, a description of the problem and, where reasonably possible, clear photographs.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, Yggdrasilver may offer an appropriate remedy such as:
- Repair
- Adjustment
- Replacement
- Price reduction
- Refund
The customer will not be required to pay reasonable return costs for a product confirmed to be defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied where Yggdrasilver is legally responsible for the issue.
Normal wear, accidental damage, improper care and minor variations inherent in handmade production are not normally considered defects.
17. Care and use
Jewellery may change appearance over time through wear, oxidation, exposure to moisture, chemicals, cosmetics and contact with skin.
Customers should follow any care instructions supplied with the product.
Yggdrasilver is not responsible for damage caused by:
- Improper use or storage
- Accidents or impact
- Exposure to unsuitable chemicals
- Unauthorised repairs or modifications
- Normal wear and ageing
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
18. Intellectual property and customer-provided material
Images, product designs, text, branding and other material created by Yggdrasilver may not be copied, reproduced or commercially used without permission.
A customer who submits a design, image, symbol or other reference material confirms that they have the right to provide and use it for the requested product.
Yggdrasilver may decline requests involving material that appears unlawful, infringing, hateful or otherwise inappropriate.
No customer’s private correspondence or identifying information will be published without permission. Photographs of completed work may only be used in accordance with applicable privacy and intellectual-property requirements.
19. Events outside reasonable control
Yggdrasilver is not responsible for delays or failure caused by events outside reasonable control, including serious illness, accidents, material shortages, postal disruption, customs delays, natural events or major technical failures.
Where such an event materially affects an order, the customer will be informed as soon as reasonably possible.
20. Applicable law and disputes
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Swedish law.
This choice of law does not deprive consumers residing in another country of any mandatory consumer protection granted by the law applicable to them.
Customers are encouraged to contact Yggdrasilver first so that any problem can be investigated and, where possible, resolved directly.
A Swedish consumer may also refer a dispute to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes:
Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN)
A consumer residing in another country may have access to a corresponding national dispute-resolution body.
21. Changes to these Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions may be updated when the products, order process, payment methods or legal requirements change.
The version that applied when an order was placed will normally govern that order.
